I don’t know if Bill Whittle is a Christian or not, but he is a clear thinker and able communicator. In this short video (about 7 minutes), he demonstrates how Progressives today are simply following the roadmap and tactics of fascists in pre-WW2 Germany, Mao Tse-tung’s China, and Joseph Stalin’s Russia. Many Progressives, perhaps especially the young who have been highly propagandized (programmed?) at their Universities, are determined to silence free speech and suppress the expression of any views but their own. It’s obvious that they know their ideas cannot stand scrutiny or opposition, so they will shout down, shut down and if need be, burn down, any opposition to their point of view. This is not your Daddy’s liberalism — this is a new animal entirely.
“The Cycle of Agitation 03 – A Case Study” shows step by step how Progressives agitate in order to force their agenda into place. Again, the reason is simple – Progressives do not have credible persuasive arguments to make their case. After all, how does one reasonably argue that men have a right to use women’s (and little girl’s) bathrooms and showers? But as it turns out, they don’t need persuasive arguments — coercion and mob action is all the persuasion they need – along with an absolute inability to appreciate irony.
Remember those who called for harsh punishment of Christian bakers who refused to violate their conscience by baking wedding cakes for gay weddings? Strangely, these same leftists have no problem with Bruce Springsteen’s breaking a contract and canceling his performance in North Carolina because men are being prevented from showering with women and young girls. Why does Springsteen’s conscience deserve protection and the right to break a contract into which he entered, while Christian’s who decline to enter into a contract which they believe violates their consciences who do not? The hypocrisy is breathtaking! And then there are the corporate fascists – Apple, Starbucks, Kellogg’s, Yahoo!, PayPal and others, many of whom happily do business with nations that behead and kill homosexuals, and openly oppress women and girls, who are planning to boycott North Carolina as well. (You’ve got a really nice little state there — we wouldn’t want that anything bad should happen to it, would we?) How is it that they can look the other way when dealing with true tyranny, but pounce on an American state for lawfully and wisely denying men the right to shower with women and use their restroom facilities?
Then there is the issue of abortion. Debbie Wasserman Schultz was recently asked if her children were human while in the womb. She couldn’t bring herself to give a straightforward yes or no answer but instead asserted her pride in having the right to dismember them if she so chose, euphemistically referred to as “reproductive rights.”

What does all of this mean? The Apostle Paul writes to the young pastor Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:2-4 concerning the last days:
“For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.”
That is an apt description of what we are seeing with the rise of the New American Progressive Fascists. What does it mean for the church? Several things, we think. First, there will very likely be, in the near future, a national movement by the American Fascists to penalize churches who stand fast for the faith regarding these and other issues. Many supposed “Christians” (Brian McLaren, Rob Bell and others), have already embraced the LGBTQ (add whatever additional letters come to mind) and Progressive agenda and will be rewarded with popular approbation, at least for a time. Churches who hold fast to “the faith once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3) will likely lose tax exempt status and then be subject to fines each time they preach or teach on areas that contradict the will and narrative of the Progressive left. Initially, lawsuits and fines will likely be used to bully churches into silence if not acquiescence. But, because Progressivism “progresses” – and fairly quickly, in our day – there may be prison sentences for “hate speech” in the near future, against pastors and individual Christians who hold to the arcane ideas of freedom of speech and religion. This may seem farfetched, but it is not. We have already seen jail time for so-called “hate speech” in other formerly free countries. We saw a man jailed for a silly video he produced about Islam right here in America, the “land of the free.” Silly videos, books, and artwork are routinely produced mocking Christianity, but the breathtaking hypocrisy shows itself again in that none of these “artists” have been jailed – not that we would want them to be. Just as an aside, what are Progressive fascists doing in bed with Islamist fascists anyway? Birds of a feather?
We can take some lessons from the First Century Church who lived in a culture which was averse and openly antagonistic to their beliefs and teachings. When they gathered together, their main emphasis was on teaching and training believers to understand and engage the culture they were surrounded by. Undergoing various levels of persecution, they encouraged and prayed for one another and shared each other’s burdens, and they took it upon themselves to care for their pagan society’s poor and outcast. They simultaneously shared the gospel and challenged the pagan ideology that had for many centuries held people in bondage and darkness. The result was a transformation of Western society which lasted for about 1,700 years.
Today, much of the church seems to be in confusion and disarray. Many are leaving the faith – or else seeking to “modernize” the message to be more in line with popular thinking. The Bible speaks of a time when people would no longer “endure sound doctrine,” but find and follow (false) teachers who will tell them what they want to hear. It really seems that we are there. But there are good churches, good Pastors, good teachers, and faithful Christians out there. These are the people and congregations we should be seeking to align ourselves with — the ones who hold fast to the truth. It is still better to be accepted by God as good and faithful servants, than to be temporarily popular within an increasingly pagan culture. We say “temporarily popular” because of the progressive nature of evil. The goalposts keep shifting. Just when one “evolves” enough to accept “Gay marriage,” the left will start pushing for acceptance of “Pedophile rights.” Can we evolve on that? How much of one’s conscience will have to be seared to accept adult-child “marriage?” And then after that, of course, some other anti-God, anti-Christian perversion or doctrinal heresy will be pressed upon us – you can take it to the bank. The answer is not to “evolve,” but to find a good church, stay close to God, and just say no.
