Stuffed With Thanksgiving

As I write this, my children are laid out like cord wood in front of the TV watching what may well be one of the last bastion of Judeo-Christian public sentiment left: The Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Special. I am thankful that ABC hasn’t bowed to what must be considerable pressure to cancel this sorry excuse for cultural appropriation of Native Americans. From Charlie Brown we learn that Squanto was taken as a slave by Englishmen.

But our God plays the long game. Because of his time as a slave, Squanto was able to communicate with Mayflower boat people and save their bacon (and their crops and their grains). He taught them stuff that would help them survive because well you know . . .

*Was coming. God provided in ways no one could have ever expected. He’s good at that.

This year we are stuffed full of thanks for what God has done here at MCOI. Don and I are thankful for the benefactor God used who pledged to provide Don and Joy’s full support for 6 months so they can raise their ongoing support from other donors. We are also thankful for you, our readers, who support MCOI with your prayers, donations and encouragement. We are thankful that we have the privilege to speak truth to power and rescue the perishing from the grip of false and abusive doctrine. We are thankful, most of all, that we can take part in the ministry of reconciliation as ambassadors between heaven and earth in the proclamation of the gospel of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone. We are ever thankful to Him for His indescribable gift!
