2 Timothy 3:1-5 has an interesting description of people in the “last days.” One of the descriptors is “unappeasable.” I like that word. It is also an accurate description of what we are seeing today. The definition is simple and easy to understand. According to the Oxford Dictionaries
adjective: unappeasable
not able to be pacified, placated, or satisfied.
No matter what changes are made or what is done the “unappeasable” won’t be happy. They are cry-babies. Of course, not all of the “Boomer Generation” are Cry-Baby Boomers that fit this description but the activists, liberal politicians and liberal media elites certainly do. Wikipedia describes the Sexual Revolution in 1960s United States:
The 1960s in the United States are often perceived today as a period of profound societal change, one in which a great many politically minded individuals, who on the whole were young and educated, sought to influence the status quo.
Attitudes to a variety of issues changed, sometimes radically, throughout the decade. The urge to ‘find oneself’, the activism of the 1960s, and the quest for autonomy were characterised by changes towards sexual attitudes at the time. These changes to sexual attitudes and behavior during the period are often today referred to generally under the blanket metaphor of ‘sexual revolution’.
It goes on to name which groups and agendas were involved:
With its roots in the first perceived sexual revolution in the 1920s, this ‘revolution’ in 1960s America encompassed many groups who are now synonymous with the era. Feminists, gay rights campaigners, hippies and many other political movements were all important components and facilitators of change.
We can spring forward 50 years to now and see how well they have done. The Cry-Baby Boomers desire was to shake off the shackles of Judeo/Christian sexual morality. Well, normalizing same gender sexual relationships (gay rights) is pretty is nearly fait accompli. But, they aren’t “pacified, placated, or satisfied” that two people of the same gender can join together and call it “marriage.” No, acceptance and normalization is not enough, all must be forced to celebrate the redefinition of marriage and the turning culture upside down. If a baker chooses to not bake a cake for their same gender “marriage” celebration the business must be punished by excessive fines and putting them out of business. Does that satisfy them? No. The possibility of thinking differently on religious gorunds must be punished and stopped. Hence the City of Houston demands pastors turn over sermons:
The city of Houston has issued subpoenas demanding a group of pastors turn over any sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity or Annise Parker, the city’s first openly lesbian mayor. And those ministers who fail to comply could be held in contempt of court.
What caused this action? The Cry-Baby Boomer gay activists were unappeasable. A new ordinance was introduced:
The subpoenas are just the latest twist in an ongoing saga over the Houston’s new non-discrimination ordinance. The law, among other things, would allow men to use the ladies room and vice versa. The city council approved the law in June.
So, if a man is in touch with “his feminine side” today he can stroll into the women’s bathroom and share their space without fear of reprisal. Next will be the elimination of male and female bathrooms, showers and dorms in the military. After all the segregation was to provide some sense of privacy from those who may be sexually attracted to you but since same gender attraction is endorsed and promoted by the Federal government those protections have been removed in any case.
Just a few years ago Gay activists were questioning why the church was taking such a rigid stand against calling a same gender union a marriage. After all, the said, neither they nor the government would force churches to violate their beliefs b=and force them to perform same gender weddings. Whether they were naïve or lying is uncertain but we and many churches were sure that was not true. Low and behold, Government to Ordained Ministers: Celebrate Same-Sex Wedding or Go to Jail.
Just this weekend, a case has arisen in Idaho, where city officials have told ordained ministers they have to celebrate same-sex weddings or face fines and jail time.
What has been accomplished on the road to sexual freedom has paved the way for what comes next. Pedophiles also want to be normalized as simply a different sexual orientation. In 1999 the American Psychiatric Association published an article in a move toward legitimizing adults having sex with children which raised a furor. Massachusetts News Will Pedophilia Be Next In Massachusetts Schools?: “Child Molestation” Is Being “Normalized” commented on the APA “studies” which their article cited:
The American Psychological Association has sent a strong message that it will soon approve the practice of adults having sex with children, now known as “pedophilia” or “child molestation.”
It has published a study indicating that pedophilia can have a positive influence on a child. This conclusion was based upon a compilation of fifty-nine studies about how college students have coped with childhood sexual “abuse.”
We must eliminate the use of “judgmental terms” such as “child abuse,” “molestation,” and “victims,” according to the study. We should use neutral, value-free terms like “adult-child sex.” We should not talk about “the severity of the abuse,” but instead refer to “the level of sexual intimacy.”
According to the APA at the time, the only thing wrong with an adult having sex with a child is if the child feels bad. The only reason a child would feel bad is because society would make them feel bad. Hence, the reason for using the “non-judgmental terms.”
On Octoebr 5, 2014, the New York Times published Margo Kaplan on the Opinion Pages, “Pedophilia: A Disorder, Not a Crime” in which she argued that:
A second misconception is that pedophilia is a choice. Recent research, while often limited to sex offenders – because of the stigma of pedophilia – suggests that the disorder may have neurological origins.
It isn’t a choice, it is ingrained in them. That may be true but sin is ingrained in all of us. It is just different sins for different people. Margo’s basic argument is that they are the way they are and we need to stop discriminating against them. Unappeasable.
Jack Minor recently did a piece, “Pedophiles want same rights as homosexuals” and traced a bit of the history and mentions something which took place:
Earlier this year two psychologists in Canada declared that pedophilia is a sexual orientation just like homosexuality or heterosexuality.
Van Gijseghem, psychologist and retired professor of the University of Montreal, told members of Parliament, “Pedophiles are not simply people who commit a small offense from time to time but rather are grappling with what is equivalent to a sexual orientation just like another individual may be grappling with heterosexuality or even homosexuality.”
He went on to say, “True pedophiles have an exclusive preference for children, which is the same as having a sexual orientation. You cannot change this person’s sexual orientation. He may, however, remain abstinent.”
When asked if he should be comparing pedophiles to homosexuals, Van Gijseghem replied, “If, for instance, you were living in a society where heterosexuality is proscribed or prohibited and you were told that you had to get therapy to change your sexual orientation, you would probably say that that is slightly crazy. In other words, you would not accept that at all. I use this analogy to say that, yes indeed, pedophiles do not change their sexual orientation.”
The Cry-Baby Boomers sexual revolution is in full swing. We may not be in the “last days” but Paul’s description in2 Timothy 3 of those living then seems to not be too far off the mark with what we are seeing today:
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.
